On Saturday, April 29, Thomas Jefferson Park was alive with the sounds of music, laughter and people at play. It was the New York City Street Games. Hosted by NYC Parks and the Walt Disney Company, this annual event gave families the opportunities to step into the past and play 80s and 90s style street games for the day. Games and activities included pogo sticks, hula hoops, double dutch, box car derby, wheelchair basketball an obstacle course and life size games of connect four, jenga and checkers.
For parents it was a blast to the past. For kids it was a day of fun and playing. For NYC Parks, it was a way to make the community aware of what NYC parks have to offer.
