The San Diego Sheriff’s Department and its partner agencies conducted Operation Allied Shield III in Central, South and East San Diego County on March 25th and 26th. The goal is to suppress gang activity through aggressive enforcement. Deputies, officers, detectives and agents used vehicle stops, probation/parole checks, fourth waiver searches, and other methods to target, contact, identify and arrest these territorial gang members and their associates in areas they are known to frequent and claim. 246 people were arrested; more than $41,000 in cash was seized as well as drugs with an estimated street value of $70,000.
