"Murmur" was installed by SARU practitioner Ray Lee in the drama studio at Oxford Brookes University, during Audiograft.
It is a fully automated installation involving a series of metal tripods with lights and speakers mounted atop them. In sequence, they switch on and off, filling the air with moving sound.
The audio on this video is a mix of different recordings, each made from a different vantage point within the space. The idea was to try and capture in sound the kinetic qualities of the work. Viewers should note that the video and the sound aren't always perfectly in sync and that the best way to experience this work is in person!
