Ten years ago, Quentin Tarantino paid homage to late 60s-70s' exploitation cinema with his fifth movie. A slasher movie without typical slasher movies characteristics, a true cinematographic jewel which took inspiration from movies such as Vanishing Point, Faster, Dirty Mary Crazy Larry and other (muscle) car and "grindhouse" films. Death Proof uses (mostly in its first part) unconventional stylistic techniques to perfectly appear like a 70s' exploitation movie. I made a tribute to its aesthetic and mood, and to his stunning -without CGI- action and technically perfect sequences.
