Carrying on a longstanding tradition in Catholic schools, every year in May, Summit Country Day School eighth grade students escort Montessori preschoolers down the grand central promenade of the school's 19th Century Immaculate Heart of Mary Chapel to place flowers at the foot of a statue of Mary. The May Court processes into the chapel. Members of the court represent each grade level of Harold C. Schott Middle School, fifth through eighth grades. One student is chosen to carry a crown of flowers down the aisle and another is chosen crown the Blessed Mother Mary. Traditional songs are part of the service.
