Each year, people in NYC chalk memorials to many of the 146 garment workers who perished in the 1911 Triangle Shirtwaist Factory Fire. The chalking is done at their residences at the time of the Fire. For the 100th commemoration of the tragedy, Lansner cousins chalked for our great-aunt, Fannie Lansner, at 78 Forsyth Street.
Our thanks go to Ruth Sergel, creator of the Chalk Project. For more info, please visit: streetpictures.org/chalk/
