This documentary explores the work of a non-profit medical volunteer group known as Team of Volunteer Doctors. A newly named organization that has been conducting annual missions to Da Nang, Viet Nam since 1998. The first trips were coordinated by Dr. Tung Van Dinh, the former director of Da Nang General Hospital, where he recruited some of his American colleagues to lecture in Da Nang. For the past 17 years the group has grown, and is continued on by his children: Tri, Tue, Tuan and Tho. It's a legacy brandishing his initials as its name: Project TVD.
Every year, Team of Volunteer Doctors recruits physicians from places all over the United States to volunteer in Viet Nam with the mission to help improve the local healthcare through education and direct patient care. There are physicians that return every year, but Project TVD is looking for new volunteers. As a non-profit organization, Project TVD strives to raise money in hopes to sponsor young Da Nang physicians abroad for further education.
Join the team, join the legacy.
