We got interested in working with a community of people who have, by their own consideration, bad handwriting and who feel embarrassed about it. “Chicken scratch” is a metaphor often applied to mock such individuals, and we decided to have a different take at that. We created an algorithm that distorts the text based on the behaviour of the real chicken to show how crooked handwriting can actually be beautiful. Our message to everyone is “Be yourself. Write by hand.”
