7th International Dance Film Festival - ATHENS VIDEO DANCE PROJECT
An awesome festival of short videodances from different genres, dance films and documentaries, multidisciplinary performances, photo projections and educational programs came to its end! It was a great pleasure for AVDP to host those beautiful works and share them to the local community. Many thanks to the theater of Athens School of Fine Arts, Institut Français de Grèce, *the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning" and all the participants, partners, sponsors, friends and mostly to our volunteers who supported our vision and made this project happen. Stay tuned for future AVDP activities and do not hesitate to contact us for fruitful ideas and collaborations. The AVDP 2017 archive trailers will be released soon.
The starting point of the festival is set on the 27th of April with the special tribute US-and-THE OTHERS regarding the issue of diversity. Who is THE OTHER and who is US? When is diversity endangered? Is diversity an advantage or a disadvantage? The tribute has a free entrance and includes projections of dance films, photos and lectures by Greek and foreign artists and experts in the social sciences. US-and-THE OTHERS is implemented through the Operational Program "Human Resources Development, Education and Lifelong Learning" and is co-financed by the European Union (European Social Fund) and Greek national funds. Its co-funded projects deal mostly with the improvement of education and employment in Greece. Its main targets relate to the development and promotion of human resources skills, activities against unemployment, strengthen social cohesion and social inclusion of vulnerable social groups, improvement of the quality of education & lifelong learning, awareness on environmental education, linking education with the labor market. The tribute is implemented as part both of the anniversary events for the 60 years of the European Social Fund and the EU-wide communications campaign called "Europe in My Region", run as a way to encourage citizens to discover and learn more about EU-funded projects near them.
