On May 23, 2017 at 3:55p.m., the Grant County Sheriff’s Office responded to a school bus versus Dump truck crash at the intersection of Borah Ridge Road and County Road P in Patch Grove Township.
Involved was a School Bus owned by Warco Incorporated. The school Bus had eight passengers and the driver aboard. The school bus entered the intersection, from Morgan Road heading northbound, as a 2002 Peterbilt dump truck was traveling west bound on County Road P. The collision took place, the dump truck exited the north shoulder of the roadway into a ditch and came to rest.
The school bus was spun around and remained in transport backwards, exited the roadway, went though a ditch and barbed wire fence and came to rest in a pasture.
One of the busses passengers was ejected and transported by rescue squad to an area hospital. Two of the busses passengers were taken by parents from the scene, one was treated and released at the scene, and the rest were transported by rescue squad to area hospitals.
The names of the drivers, and passengers are being withheld at this time. All passengers and drivers have been accounted for and have been released from the scene or transported to the hospital.
The crash is being investigated by Grant County Sheriff’s Office, Wisconsin State Patrol is handling the reconstruction.
