In April Unite Housing Workers Branch organised the Alternative Housing Awards.
Tenants and residents voted in their 100s to name and shame the worst behaviour by housing associations. Which association has the most overpaid chief executive? The worst record on maintenance? The poorest relationship with its staff? The awards took place at the same time and in (almost) the same place as the UK Housing Awards at the sumptuous Lancaster Hotel in Central London.
