Pastor Randy Skeete began the crusade , ‘A New Day’, at the University Seventh-day Adventist Church, Los Angeles on 4/2/2011. It will continue till 4/23/2011. This is the first sermon for the crusade delivered on 4/2/2011 entitled Death Before Life. His sermons will be posted on a daily basis at this location.
We must die before we can live. When God made Adam and Eve in His image, He made them sinless, righteous, holy and perfect. That was God’s standard for Adam and Eve. Sin damaged humanity spiritually and physically, however, sin did not lower God’s standard. The law is the standard that God has for everyone. Perfect conformity to the law must be present in the past, present and future to meet the requirement of the law, which Jesus meets. That’s what law demands. Death to Christ is when we commit our lives to Jesus without reservation. When we are in Jesus, all of our life needs to be covered by him, like a baby kangaroo fully covered by its mother’s pouch. If any part of the baby kangaroo sticks out from the pouch, then the baby is under condemnation by ‘law’, figuratively speaking. ‘Abide in me, and I in you’.John 15:4. We must be in Christ in total surrender. Then we can live. We must be dead in Christ before we live.
