Amy doesn’t take it well when she discovers that her husband has been cheating on her and is planning on leaving. In a moment of madness she ends up doing a terrible thing. Filled with remorse, she seeks atonement for her actions but when redemption comes, it’s not quite in the form she would have expected.
Leaving Amy is a short film written, directed and produced by Sam Purewal with the support of Call The Shots, a Coventry based group of filmmakers. It was awarded a Certificate of Merit in 2010 in the prestigous Accolade Awards - a top-tier, international awards competition based in California, USA (and named by Moviemaker magazine as one of the top 25 festivals in the USA worth the entry fee). It was also shortlisted for Best Short Film in the Root to Shoots Short Film Competition 2010 based in Leamington Spa.
