In life, Dr. James Owen Perrine was a noted physicist, innovator and professor, as well as an Army officer in World War I. In death, he was forgotten. Forgotten, until members of the Missing in America Project found him - some 36 years after his cremated remains were placed on a shelf in a Cedar Falls funeral home in 1974. Hundreds of AMVET Riders joined the Missing in America Project and U.S. military officials to bury Capt. Perrine with full military honors in May 2010.
