The Bar Association of San Francisco’s Criminal Justice Task Force, formed in 2015, has worked closely with the San Francisco Police Department, the Police Commission and a variety of stakeholders. San Francisco’s new police chief, William “Bill” Scott, has graciously agreed to be a part of this very important panel presentation, together with Supervisor Malia Cohen who has demonstrated true leadership in police reform, as well as former president of the Police Commission, Suzy Loftus, who spearheaded a new Use of Force Policy. They are joined by Norm Stamper, the former chief of the Seattle Police Department. Norm has devoted considerable time reflecting on his career and policing and believes strongly that police culture is in need of reform. He is the author of two books on the subject. Join us for this rare opportunity to hear from leaders of police reform - what it means for the city, the department and San Francisco residents.
