1 - Begin rowing with arms only from the finish position. Keep your core in a tall engaged position. Aim to create a small bell-shaped power curve and accelerate the handle. Focus on using the arm draw to pull your feet closer to the foot plate each stroke.
2 - Next begin rowing arms and body. Think about the arms leading the hips over. Now your core should be doing the majority of the work to bring the handle into your body, and your arms are simply following through.
3. Then build the 1/2 slide rowing (1/2 leg bend). Focus on driving the hips back first, but bringing the handle with your core/hips.
4. Finally build to full slide, regular rowing. Continue to be aware of how the arm draw keeps your feet connected to the foot plate, and your toes never lose connection at the finish of the stroke.
Spend 1-2 minutes at each step of the Pick Drill until your power curve is smooth and you feel efficient at each stage.
