Béla Simó is a contemporary sculptor, influenced both by the simple forms of nature and the chaotic forces of the modern world.
Trained by master sculptor Josef Elter in Austria, Simó’s style has evolved as a result of his new life in Canada, largely spent in the north.
“My sculpture is stylized and simplified. I don’t want the details to distract from the dominant shapes I am working to create. This approach is born out of my Yukon experience and my proximity to nature.”
