Time-Lapse Collection - Tutorial Series – Night

This time-lapse was shot on a 10.5mm lens at f/2.8 in Chaco Canyon. Not only was it my first time-lapse with my new Nikon D300 but it far exceeded my expectations in VERY cold conditions. The battery lasted most of the night but the cables and tripod froze into one big mass. Slight motion was added in post-process to give it a larger effect.

Key Features:
-cropping was critical since the cave was very tight
-picked a new moon so there was zero moon shadows
-had to change battery therefore the frame jump in the middle
-Albuquerque light pollution in the background defines the horizon
