The people who create wealth in a enterprise should share in the wealth they created. This is the fundamental idea behind enterprises owned by its employees/workers.
Enterprising Owners is a short film on the past 30 years of employee-owned enterprises starting in the 1980’s, when concerns about America’s competitiveness on the world stage were at a peak, to the present day’s concerns on globalization and the future of work.
This film marks the Foundation for Enterprise Development’s 30 year anniversary, and juxtaposes the motivations of Dr. J.R Beyster, the founder of the FED and SAIC, which grew to be the largest employee-owned, research and engineering firm in the nation while he was CEO and Chairman, with the motivations today of the next generation.
