This is an excerpt from the soon to be released bokashi movie (http://www.bokashimovie.com) In this segment we visit Okanagan Landing Elementary School where students explain how vermiculture works to convert food scraps into soil. Studies indicate that 40% of material in landfill is compostable. One way to extend the life of a landfill is to find ways that compostable material never enters the landfill. The soon to be released bokashi movie (http://www.bokashimovie.com) documents how, in 2010, the IPE reduced the amount of compostable that went to landfills.
