A story I completely produced, shot, wrote, and edited for my NBC station. This story is about street corner advertisers and the sign acrobatics they perform.
I was approached by my assignment editor that day and was told, "We want you to do a story on these sign spinners, so here you go!" I was given a contact and address, and that was it. I conducted all the interviews and shot all the video. I had originally intended on tracking the story myself, but realized soon after I began logging that I couldn't tell the story better than the people I interviewed that day. So it became a "nat pack." Once I finished editing it I told the producer how long it ended up being; she was a little skeptical. Once I showed her the piece she told me not to change anything and it aired as it was.
