See eight seminary students of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) in action at two Hein-Fry Book of Faith Challenge (HFBFC) spring events.
This brief promotional piece for our 2017 event - at the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Philadelphia (LTSP) - features student presenters from the HFBFC events held in the spring of 2016 at two of our ELCA seminaries - Wartburg Theological Seminary (Dubuque, IA) and the Lutheran Theological Seminary at Gettysburg (LTSG) (Gettysburg, PA).
Each year, one student from each of our ELCA seminaries is chosen to create an innovative project that invites people to "open Scripture and join the conversation" in a new way or new setting. The students collaborate with pastors, leaders, and congregation members to experience the project, learn together, then present what they’ve learned in a TRED Talk (Theology Religion Education Development Talk) at a culminating event.
In the video, you also see the significant role of our responders when the projects are shared. Professors, theologians, and pastors, as well as the audience, respond to each presenter following their TRED Talk (Theology Religion Education Development Talk).
The 2018 Hein-Fry Book of Faith Challenge (HFBFC) will feature the presentations of seven student teams and be held at the Lutheran School of Theology at Chicago (LSTC). Watch for information atbookoffaith.org.
