As a seller of purple fabric, Lydia was a successful business woman who worshiped God with a group of women. Paul spoke of Jesus to these women, and the Lord opened Lydia’s heart to believe. She and her household are baptized. As a response to salvation, Lydia opens her home and hosts Paul and his ministry companions. In our increasingly frantic culture, opening our homes to others provides space and time to slow down, connect, and develop meaningful relationships.
