To better understand the current landscape of youth sports in the communities we serve
– including types of programs, facilities, quality and access –
the Ralph C. Wilson, Jr. Foundation commissioned three regional studies conducted by
the Aspen’s Institute’s Sport & Society Program, and in partnership with local community foundations.
Aspen was selected because of its substantial body of work in this field, including a data-driven framework of eight strategies, or “PLAYS”, aimed at increasing quality sport participation for children.
