Many of us would cite a good teacher as one of the most formative influences of our lives. Yet no one's ever defined what that means. A study by Professor Simon Burgess of the Centre for Market and Public Organisation at Bristol University has concluded that good teachers really make a measurable difference to pupil achievement. In this, the third video in the series about the CMPO's research, Professor Burgess talks to me about his findings. And we profile a teacher who embodies that elusive quality of "good" - Pete Scutt of Isambard Community School, Swindon, who has won an award for the quality of his work.
