The inspiration behind The London Chat show comes from the often fascinating stories that such a diverse range of people have to tell.
Amira began her career freelance writing for national magazines; from celebrity weeklies like new! to top-selling monthlies such as Top Sante.
She had first-hand experience of foreign press when she spent time working as a features writer on International titles including Egypt Today’s entertainment supplement Carnival Arabia and women’s lifestyle magazines Lounge! and (in)sight; guest-editing one of the issues.
After graduating she trained with the Press Association and Daily Mail as well as working on the company’s regional newspapers including The Journal in Newcastle and The Sentinel in Stoke-On-Trent before moving to London to work as an Arts & Entertainment journalist for the London Evening Standard.
As part of her job Amira edits and writes for the Entertainment & Showbiz sections of standard.co.uk
She also presents The London Entertainment Lowdown podcast and video coverage for the Evening Standard Film Awards, Theatre Awards and annual Influentials Party.
From star interviews, red carpet premieres, theatre openings, music reviews and round-ups of the best events in London she is always up-to-date with the hottest tickets in the capital.
Now she will be speaking to interviewees in front of an intimate audience for The London Chat Show.
About The London Chat Show:
The London Chat Show allows an audience to experience the side of the interview they don’t usually get to see. Famous faces and interesting characters will be breaking the barrier between the journalist and public to share their tales in front of an intimate crowd.
Interviewees will include actors, musicians, comedians, sports stars and some of the country’s most successful entrepreneurs. We will even hear from those who have shunned showbiz for a quiet life and discover their reasons for doing so. What all guests will have in common is an interesting story to tell. Some may even be happy to answer burning questions from the audience.
Also on the bill for each show will be a comedy performer. Expect music, stand-up, mime, sketch or character acts to bring a little humour to the occasion.
Do keep an eye out for great competition prizes that will be given away on the night; from dinner in some of London’s finest restaurants and hotel breaks to tickets for the biggest West End shows.
Taking place at the Canal Cafe Theatre, The London Chat Show brings you a fascinating insight into life in the public eye in a fun and accessible setting.
