In the documentary ‘Resonans’ musicians play live music for hospital patients and their care staff on a surgical ward based on person centred music making. The documentary was made as result of the research project Meaningful Music in HealthCare by the research group Lifelong Learning in Music and the University Medical Center Groningen. In this project the aim was to develop an innovative practice with musicians playing for hospital patients and care staff in interactive music sessions and to measure the effects of live music on patients' wellbeing, recovery after a surgery and potentially on the decrease of delirium. Furthermore the goa was to find out what is the meaning of music in such a context for health care professionals as well as for musicians and their professional development. The trailer gives an impression of the documentary and some insight into this new practice with live music for hospital patients.
