In addition to his music, Satie left a remarkable set of writings, including Le Pi?ge de M?duse (1913) featuring music for prepared piano. Satie was a colourful figure in the early 20th century Parisian avant-garde. He was a precursor to later artistic movements such as minimalism, repetitive music, and the Theatre of the Absurd.
This study day will include material on French cinema, lecture/recitals and a performance.
