Working with American production house Atomic Marble (atomicmarble.com), Filtered Films provided the editing backend for producing this short film which shows Microsoft's involvement in One Day Without Shoes (onedaywithoutshoes.com). This film was sent out from Steve Balmer (MS CEO) to all 90,000 Microsoft employees around the world. The film and variations of it, also appeared on many websites including the front page of MSN, Bing, Youtube and the TOMS shoes website.
For this project, to get things rolling quickly we had the raw video files sent as smaller proxy files, via dropbox. this meant we could start the edit whilst waiting for the original hi-res files to be couriered to us. Editing was done on Final cut Pro at the Filtered Films studio. Final output was to Windows Media Video (.wmv) for deployment on Microsoft's own media servers.
All in all a really great project to work on, the content of which was really inspiring. If you havn't heard of TOMS shoes or One Day Without Shoes, i would really encourage you to visit their sites and find out for yourself what its all about.
