The scars of life, of injustice, of war and of circumstance played out in Colombia’s Eastern Antioquia during workshops in theatre pedagogy with a group of rural teachers who in turn take their learning to replicate the process in the villages & towns of their own municipalities.
Until recently the region was where different armed groups - guerrillas, paramilitaries & the Army - played out their war. The principal victims were civilians and, although the Department is now in the "post-conflict" era, new scars continue to be added to the old.
Filming was done over two and a half days: one a whistle-stop tour of the small towns of San Carlos, San Rafael and Granada; the rest of the time in the rehearsals in La Ceja and the Marinilla performance. The players are a group of teachers from COREDI, a rural education institute in the region, and their students: pupils, parents of pupils, other teachers, families and farmers. The tutors of the teachers during the filming days were Inge Kleutgens, Felipe Vergara & Adriana Ospina.
