Stepan Ryabchenko

Odessa Museum of Western and Eastern Art hosted, within the framework of the III International Music Festival ODESSA CLASSICS, an exhibition "Sounds of Silence" by Stepan Ryabchenko. Young Ukrainian artist, whose works are popular among domestic and western collectors, have repeatedly exhibited at prestigious art forums of the country, will present the interaction of new technologies and classical pictorial tradition. In an attempt to interpret the silence by Stepan Ryabchenko will combine digital art with the natural elements in order to get a new language of art with the help of this synthesis.

«The "Sounds of Silence" project by Stepan Ryabchenko, as always, explores the boundaries of the worlds - material and spiritual, real and imaginary, analog and digital. Exhibition woven of digital shadows projected on the walls of the museum, the artist captures the ephemeral nature of the virtual, and withal - the physical reality. With the help of laconic moving silhouettes, intertwined branch lines, author fills the space with meanings without filling it physically. His statement is a delicate, subtle signal, the essence of which is a combination of binary code digits, giving it the content and form. Shadows of the nonexistent, visualization of the invisible - are the digital simulacra, projection and association. Traces of thoughts and images, the boundaries designation of the visible and perceptible», − writes about the works that will be included in the "Sounds of Silence" exhibition art critic, Natalya Matsenko.

The project will surprise Stepan Ryabchenko's fans with minimalism creativity in color decision, because the silence, the solitude which is associated with it, suggests a monochrome solution, rather than a riot of colors. Images-shadows, which will come to the forefront of works, are called to enter into a dialogue with the imagination of the viewer, to call subconscious associations.

According to Stepan Ryabchenko «Shadows are the digital silence in a stopped moment. Presence of absence, stopped instantness». Philosophical and meditative, the artist's new project focuses attention on the duality of the world, in which harmony is much greater than it seems to us.
