Lending A Hand Project, led by artist Marcia Tavernese, was part of a large scale community project called Heart to Art. Lending a Hand included over 200 community members from the Brantford area and worked with organizations like the Grand River Community Health Centre, The Brantford Arts Block, Canadian Mental Health Association, Community Living, SKIP (Seniors Kids Intergenerational Program), YMCA Immigration and Settlement Services, Why Not City Missions, local high schools and the City of Brantford. The Heart to Art Project; Lending a Hand is currently installed at the Grand River Community Health Centre, Brantford, Ontario.
Marcia has worked on a number of large scale community outreach initiatives as the lead artist and Project Coordinator throughout Brantford and surrounding area.
These projects were in partnership with multiple Neighbourhood Associations, Brantford Parks and Recreation, the Grand River Community Health Centre and The Brantford Arts Block and worked hand-in-hand with key community stakeholders such as the Canadian Mental Health Association, Community Living, YMCA Immigration and Settlement Services, Eagle Place Association, Why Not City Missions, City of Brantford, Brant Native Housing, Children's Aid Society, Sexual Assault Centre, YES Homeless Shelter, and SKIP (Seniors, Kids Intergenerational Program).
