I am Bareface, a Croydon-based artist and printmaker fusing Pop Art and Street Art to create what I call; StreetPop. I like to reproduce, mix and merge familiar imagery to produce a new perspective. I believe when Art is repurposed in this way, it can shape an alternative and compelling story.
Laid Bare is a show explores themes such as, what if Superheroes were unable to stop key real life historical events from happening?, interpretations of pop cultural icons such as Marilyn Monroe, Snow White and David Bowie and a series that explores the emotional conflict of sexual tension. Taking inspiration from vintage newspapers, classic American pop culture and comic books that continue to resonate with us today.
