This academic project was created for an interactive video class.
"The Sprawl" is an interactive video installation that visualizes themes/aesthetics of cyberspace within a spatial experience. A field of twenty-four computers uses Max/MSP and Isadora to communicate with each other over Open Sound Control, allowing one computer to track the motion of a visitor at the back of the room and use this input to affect the footage playing on the rest of the monitors in the room.
The onscreen imagery includes footage of streets, city lights, planets, galaxies, text, and data. Though they vary greatly in scale, they appear parallel in nature, echoing each others' brightly coloured flickering pinpoints of light within fields of black.
