In the little villages within rural Serere Uganda, there are thousands of orphaned children left behind by HIV/AIDS, violence and the heartbreaking complications of living in extreme poverty. These kids face extreme deprivation and few choices which would provide them a positive future. Their guardians, most often elderly grandmothers left with too many children to handle, face an old age of pain and struggle. Often living deep in the bush, they seem utterly forgotten.
However, they are not forgotten. In the midst of illness, drought, famine, flooding, malaria and more, God sent a few caring people from Uganda and North America, who knew more caring people from countries all around the world who all reached out and shared with those in need. They started with nine kids and have grown to 84, being raised in more than 50 families...with so much more to do! Food, shelter, education, health care, counseling, spiritual care...a connection to friends with similar struggles and others who want to help...they face the future with HOPE. The very first University student began her coursework this year, studying law to serve her country in the protection of human rights.
If you can be a person who can share what you have and have friends who can share too...well, who knows what miracles can happen? Be part of the miracle... village2villageproject.org ; facebook.com/Village2VillageProject
