No Change or “freedom is a psycho-kinetic skill” (2005) brings on a collapse and reformulation of meaning and narrative, through the use of sound, objects, body, references, and intentions, and offers an alternative means of making sense through unusual means of organizing action, perception and sensation. It has a nomadic identity as a performance that reinvents itself in each new location, depending upon the economics and affects of the space itself and the institution that supports it, while retaining intact it's structure, content and performative style. The work plays with conceptual groundlessness, while generating a chaotic terrain of in-between spaces and events, and proposes unmediated action as a form of sharp thinking. The work premiered in 2005 through the Danspace Project Out of Space Series, at Context Studios in Brooklyn. This video is from a 2010 reprise performance, part of "certain difficulties, certain joys" curated by Trajal Harrell, Danspace Project, St. Mark's Church, NYC.
