Held on April 30, 2011, this webinar explores issues in rural child welfare in the United States. It will touch on tribal child welfare, workforce issues, and the unique problems facing youth involved in the system in rural areas. The presentation and discussion are led by Dr. Debra Norris from the University of South Dakota Department of Social Work and Barbara Pierce-Cruise from the Northwestern State University (Louisiana) School of Social Work. Both are involved in the traineeship program at their respective schools. Additionally, Dr. Pierce-Cruise is working on the Rural Social Work Conference that will be held this summer in Louisiana.
