The Kingsburg City Band, led by Musical Director Dale Engstrom, plays the fifth of six "Summer Band Concerts Under the Stars" in Memorial Park. The night's theme is "The Big Screen" featuring music made popular in movies. Titles include "Star Trek: The Motion Picture," "Mary Poppins," "Back to the Future," "How the West Was Won," and a medley of John Williams' film works. Highlights of this star-studded evening include the world premiere of "Highlands in the Valley" by composer Edward Ganio, who is in tonight's audience. Guest soloist, alto saxophonist Gene Doi of Kingsburg, regales the large crowd with "Persuasion." The night concludes with the ever-popular "William Tell Overture" and the perennial closer, John Philip Sousa's "Stars and Stripes Forever."
