Behind the scenes: Tera Toma Project
An experimental, split-screen, real-time thriller that charts the mental decline of two men during the course of one evening. The first, an insecure sculptor with a deadline looming and a dark secret. The second, a mysterious stranger who wakes up strapped to a bed post with an empty pill bottle by his side.
TERA TOMA was devised, rehearsed and performed in real time every night over a 5 day production period. Each morning, the cast and crew would watch the previous night’s film in its entirety and workshop areas for improvement. This method provided a new way for actors and technical crew to interact with the film they were making. Consequently, the piece evolved from both a technical and performance perspective culminating in the final 5th take, shot between 7 & 7:45pm and 10 & 10:45pm on September 11th, 2009.
