MAKING HISTORY PERSONAL
An artist talk by Sayre Quevedo, creator and producer of Re:Construcción, a transnational multimedia exhibit that explores the legacy of the Salvadoran Civil War. Quevedo speaks to the process of producing ‘Las Mesas’ a series of interactive multimedia tables dedicated to the stories of six individuals and families who lived through the war. He shares his strategies and philosophies for creating documentary work that honors the individual while tackling larger historical narratives.
Quevedo is a multimedia documentary artist. His work has been featured on National Public Radio, Marketplace, and National Geographic. He is a 2017 recipient of a Transnational Cultural Remittances Grant by the National Association of Latino Arts and Culture.

Acompañános para una charla de artista por Sayre Quevedo, creador y productor de Re: Construcción, una exhibición multimedia transnacional que explora el legado de la Guerra Civil Salvadoreña. Quevedo hablará del proceso de producción de "Las Mesas", una serie de mesas multimedia interactivas dedicadas a las historias de seis personas y familias que vivieron la guerra. Él compartirá sus estrategias y filosofías para crear el trabajo documental que honra al individuo mientras aborda narraciones históricas más grandes.
Quevedo es un artista de documentales multimedia. Su trabajo ha sido presentado en National Public Radio, Marketplace y National Geographic. En el 2017 ha sido galardonado con una beca transnacional de las remesas culturales de la Asociación Nacional de las Artes y de la Cultura Latinas.
