Handcrafted: A Story of Fire and Steel

In this short documentary, four German metal workers speak in harmony about the benefits of taking the time to be creative with your hands, allowing your time to cultivate creativity. Three of them are knifesmiths (Jörg Heckel, Matthias Zach, and Jozef Ros) who dedicate their time to the production of high-quality, useful, and artistic Damascus steel blades/knives. Internationally known knife-maker Stefan Steigerwald, also discusses his approach to his craft. Together, the four of them explain in harmony why they prefer the traditional and manual method of steel production over commercial production. For them the process is the reason.
