Pete Self, 70, works all night, every night to create one of Brooklyn's biggest, unknown photo galleries. After a career studying and teaching philosophy at universities in Florida and Arizona, he took up photojournalism and landed an unusual gig. He's sort of the photographer-in-residence at Bed-Stuy New Beginnings Charter School. One photo at a time, he is transforming the walls of the school with his pictures of the students. Rather than use generic inspirational photos, he believes the kids own success can be all the motivation they need.
