More on the exhibition:

The London Astoria was demolished in January 2009 to make way for the railway development 'Crossrail'. The site at 157 Charing Cross Road was itself a warehouse until the 1927 neo-classical conversion to a cinema. Presentations included the world premier of 'Fall of the Roman Empire'. With numerous changes of ownership, and architectural revisions, activity continued until the 90's and 00's, when the Astoria became a live music venue. It hosted the likes of Nirvana, Madonna, Radiohead, U2 and Lady Gaga, amongst others.

Working from the original architectural drawings over the 80 year history of the building, Graham Hudson re-built sections of the Astoria inside the exhibition space at Arthouse at the Jones Center, in Austin Texas. Musicians and bands were invited to rehearse inside the temporary structure over the three month period of the exhibition.
