In this music documentary video from Pro Organo, we see American organist Frederick Hohman in recording sessions on June 1, 2017, as he performs portions of three musical works that are to appear on his 2017 Pro Organo release, entitled Pageantry & Poetry (Pro Organo CD 7280). In the new album, Frederick plays the new 4-manual and pedal Reuter pipe organ, installed in 2016 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Springfield, Illinois. In the video, interspersed between music segments, Frederick provides commentary about his friendship with the people of the Reuter Organ Company, and also some specific comments about the new pipe organ in Springfield and its rich and sumptuous acoustic. The Pageantry & Poetry album - which will be available as both Compact Disc and Download when released on August 25, 2017 at ProOrgano.com - features Frederick's interpretations of traditional pipe organ literature that focus upon the music of several composers from the French romantic and French post-impressionist schools. Composers who are represented on the new album are Eugène Gigout, Johann Sebastian Bach, Jean Langlais, Maurice Duruflé, César Franck and Henri Mulet.
