April 13th, 2011, damali ayo has written the satirical works Obamistan! Land without Racism: Your Guide to the New America (2010) and How to Rent a Negro (2005) about race relations in America. She holds a MFA from Portland State University in studio art.
Ayo is a keen observer of culture, and has a passion for helping people grow and evolve, with a goal of making the world a better place for us all. She and her work have been featured in over 100 publications world-wide. She is a frequent guest commentator on public radio. Ayo's passion for connecting social issues and helping people improve their lives led her to launch the first sliding-scale, eco-friendly clothing company, which provided its customers with resources on green living, fitness, nutrition, and conscious shopping. Ayo will share her personal journey of finding happiness, health, and inspiration. After struggling with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome for six years, and spending many years working for social change, "I have seen that change starts with people, relationships and courage. This fuels my passion for helping people be all they can be," Ayo said.
