This is a trailer of the feature documentary, "Prison Through Tomorrow's Eyes," which chronicles the life-changing experiences of 24 SDSU students who spent a week exploring the depths of California's massive prison system.
As students met and talked with inmates and others they met behind bars, they began to open their eyes, and minds, to realities they had never really seen—nor cared about. They were struck by the humanity of these men and women—and the inhumanity of what we do to them in the name of public safety. Many were frustrated, even angry, as they began to question the realities that they—and most of the public—had unthinkingly accepted, even applauded.
This is the story of an arcane prison system, the horrors it perpetrates on those inside, the coming of age of college students who face the challenges of a world they are about to enter, and hope and humanity in places where most would have expected to fine none.
