August 8, 2017: In 2015, according to data not yet released to the public by Statistics Canada, the rate of diagnoses of the neuroimmune illness myalgic encephalomyelitis (ME) rose by an alarming 37.6% in one year, indicating an epidemic of ME. The previous (recorded) ME epidemic in Canada was in 1984. Canadians with ME have the lowest quality of life and the lowest research funding.
