Here is an early demo of realtime character animation enabled by VisionPlay framework that Seth Hunter is working on at the MIT Media Lab in the Fluid Interfaces Group.
Using traditional shadow puppetry techniques the software tracks points on the puppet that correlate realtime to a digital version of the character. Users can add different costumes, and record playful animations. We are working to extend this for Remote Play and to allow children to customize their characters by popping the joints on and off.
Thanks to Sean Follmer for letting me film him at his best!
