Here is a clip I recently had the pleasure of working on with multiple Golden Guitar award winner & director Duncan Toombs.
This music video for Shane Nicholson
was shot over 3 days, spanning across various areas within the central coast of New South Wales.
Cameras used were Canon's 5D Mark IIs and 7Ds with and an assortment of my Zeiss lenses & Duncan's Canon L, Tokina lenses.
My usual steadicam rig consits of Tiffen's pilot sled with the Merlin arm & vest. In my humble opnion, Steadicam is still the original and genuine article and is hard to beat. This was my first shoot using a hybrid system of both Steadicam and Glidecam's sled products, using Brian Berkey's (USA) awesome adaptors.
It took a bit of getting used to, and in regards to shot refinement, thats something I'm constantly working on & its definitely within "reach" very soon.
Regardless, Brian's adapters are amazingly machined and well made, and is probably the best adapter system out there.
Other shots utilized systems by Genus, such as their Bravo follow focuses and their Genus DSLR Adaptor Bar.
Overall, it was a sensational experience to work with such a wonderful team and a great bunch of guys. I woke up each day looking forward to every shot and location prep, and never, did it occur to me once, that it felt like work!
Anyway, hope you'll enjoy it as much as I had fun shooting it.
