My name is Sheel Patel, I'm the category director of technology & facilities here at Splunk. At Splunk we make data accessible. We have over 13,000 customers in 110 plus countries, including 85 of the Fortune 100.
Since deploying Scout, the platform has enabled us to do more with less. The biggest thing that Scout’s brought to our environment is efficiency. The simplicity of repeatability and just ease of use of the platform allows us to address more of our total external spending than we would have otherwise.
The other point around Scout, which makes it very compelling is, is the sheer ease of use. In the year and a half since we've rolled it out, I don't think I've fielded a single question from any participate either internal or external to Splunk. It's just simple.
So, with Scout, I'm no longer a bottleneck. The platform allows us to add stakeholders, they can long into an event, edit requirements, view progress, without relying on me or someone on my team. The other thing that it's enabled us to do is address more. And what I mean by address more is if I've created an RFQ for something that I know we're going to be purchasing on a repeated basis, I don't have to spend time recreating a file or recreating a spreadsheet. I can simply go in, edit a, a prior event, and repurpose it.
One of my favorite things about Scout is the message center. The message center enables Splunk to get out of the practice of managing a large volume of questions for a complex sourcing event, not having to rely on that email to not only collect, but to then on the backend, reconcile and send back out all the responses. The message center also ensure that everyone gets the same information. Everyone's reading the exact same time.
